What is Logos and Liberty about?
That’s logos as used in philosophy, rhetoric, and theology, not the plural of “logo” as used in advertising. This newsletter will get into all of those senses of logos, but it is mostly about practical philosophy, meaning inquiry into praxis in Aristotle's sense of the word, i.e., an understanding of action that integrates ethics and politics rather than separates them and takes into account both universal truths and particular conditions. That’s where the concern with liberty, and threats to it, comes in.
